Your story, Your words – Naomi, Founder of Divine Glow Lashes

Who are you and what do you do?

I’m Naomi and my day time job is business admin but I also run a business called DivineGlowLashes.

What inspired you to start Divine Glow Lashes?

I started my business in 2020 during lockdown, I was going through a really rough time like many people and I wanted to put my energy into creating something of my own! I’m known as the girl who always wears lashes wherever I go so I thought what better business to have than my own brand of lashes!

What does Divine Glow Lashes offer?

DivineGlowLashes offers strip lashes that mimic lash extensions! My eyes are sensitive and I love being able to take lashes on and off. I have a range of different styles from natural to full glam!

What are your biggest challenges starting and running the business?

My biggest challenges have been learning the background of business. I’ve had to learn about marketing, branding and the financial side of running a company which I’ve enjoyed but was completely new for me. I’ve been so blessed to have great mentors who have helped me along the way.

How did you push through the is this worth it moments?

I push through the is this worth it moments by remembering why I started, I started my lash business because I wanted to help give people the same instant boost of confidence that lashes give me. So even when it gets hard, I remind myself that I’m not just selling lashes I’m helping someone to feel glam and ready to take on the day.

What are your hopes for the business?

I would love to grow even more and to have more retail stockists and to do more events in the future. I’d also love to do events showcasing how to apply lashes and how to find your perfect lash style.

What wins have you had since starting the business?

Having my lashes stocked in a boutique in town was a huge win for me! Seeing them displayed for people to buy was incredible. I’ve also provided lashes for an event in London which was a great experience.

What is a proud moment you’ve had with Divine Glow Lashes?

Hearing someone tell me to never stop stocking the lashes because they don’t know what else they would wear! And also having my business published in a local online news article.

What has running a business taught you about yourself?

It’s taught me that I’m resilient and that I really do work hard. I love to give good customer service that I love to receive myself.

What advice would you give someone wanting to start a business?

I’d tell them to go for it!! Find something you love and are passionate about and don’t give up! If it doesn’t work out exactly how you expect at least you know you’ve given it a try.

What is a mantra you live by?

“Be strong and courageous” it’s so easy to doubt yourself and play small but the opportunities are endless when you decide to take a chance on yourself!
